Vietnam's consumer electronics market maintained strong momentum in the first five months of 2026, with online sales of smartphones, tablets, desktop computers and laptops rising sharply across the country's major e-commerce platforms.
According to data compiled by analytics platform Metric.vn, total revenue from the electronics segment reached VND8.15 trillion ($311 million) between January 1 and May 31, up 52% from the same period in 2025.
Sales volume also grew robustly, with 1.4 million products sold, an increase of 42% year-on-year. The number of online merchants expanded by 30% to around 4,500 stores.
The figures were aggregated from Vietnam's four largest e-commerce platforms: Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada and Tiki.
Shopee continued to dominate the market, accounting for 83% of total sales revenue, up slightly from 82% a year earlier. Revenue on the platform also increased by 52%, further strengthening its leading position in Vietnam's online electronics market.
Among smartphone and tablet brands, Apple remained the top seller with revenue of VND3.15 trillion, up 8% from a year earlier. Samsung ranked second with VND2 trillion in sales, posting an impressive 150% year-on-year increase.
In the laptop and desktop computer segment, Apple also led the market, with revenue more than doubling by 121% to VND94.1 billion from VND42.7 billion in the same period last year. Dell ranked second but recorded a 30% decline in sales, losing its previous market-leading position amid intensifying competition.
