According to the Airports Corporation of Vietnam, representatives from 34 carriers have already conducted site surveys and held working sessions to prepare for operations at the airport which is expected to open in December 2026.

Launching from June, this route marking the first direct air connection between Vietnam and the Netherlands.

Over 11 million seats were scheduled in 2025, surging 4% year-on-year and 8% above 2019 levels.

The route’s restoration is seen as a significant step in boosting trade and tourism ties between the two countries and the two cities.

In the first half of 2025, Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi handled 16.5 million passenger movements and recorded over 100,000 takeoffs and landings.

The new route will be exploited by Vietnam Airlines, connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Copenhagen, with three return flights per week.

A new direct air service linking Vietnam’s Nha Trang to South Korea’s Busan inaugurated by Vietnam Airlines on June 1.

The non-stop service, to be conducted by Vietnam Airlines, scheduled to start from July 1, 2025.
