With these latest adjustments, effective from June 10, 2026, the total number of Vietnamese seafood enterprises allowed to export to Taiwan (China) stands at 778.
Soc Trang city, capital of the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang, has changed from an “orange zone” (high-risk zone) to a “yellow zone” (medium-risk zone) to facilitate production and business activities, with many seafood enterprises now able to return to operations.
According to a survey conducted by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) at the end of August, only 30-40 per cent of seafood enterprises in southern cities and provinces are currently operating. It is estimated that seafood production capacity in the south has fallen by 60-70 per cent compared to the same period last year.
