Aiming to realize digital economy development goals and help the small and medium enterprise (SME) community achieve breakthroughs, the Da Nang People's Committee held a conference on July 17 to implement policies supporting digital transformation.
According to the Da Nang Department of Science and Technology, the city currently has over 61,100 active businesses. Of these, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) account for more than 97%, equivalent to over 59,200 units. While they are a vital force in the local economy, these businesses face numerous challenges in improving productivity and market competitiveness. To address this, the city has launched a Digital Transformation Project specifically designed to help these enterprises scale up and boost the city's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) growth rate.
A key highlight of the project is the introduction of an action plan and specialized support channels. Businesses will receive assistance through "Hotline 1022" and the "Da Nang Feedback Portal," providing easy access to information, administrative guidance, and support for online public services and digital platforms. This initiative is expected to save businesses significant time and costs, allowing them to focus on core production and business activities.
During the conference, more than 26 leading digital technology companies announced and awarded "unprecedented" support packages for SMEs and household businesses. These packages include free sales management software, tax declaration tools, management platforms, digital signatures, e-invoices, and various other technological solutions. This presents a major opportunity for SMEs to access modern technology and enhance their operational efficiency.
By 2030, Da Nang aims to have over 80% of its SMEs engaged in the project's activities. The city targets for the digital economy to account for 35-40% of its GRDP, positioning Da Nang as a national leader in comprehensive digital transformation within the private sector.
