Southern Dong Nai city on June 30 broke ground on the first component of a major road project connecting Ma Da Bridge to Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 4 under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, with an investment of approximately VND17 trillion ($650 million).

The 13-km section forms part of a larger transport project linking Ma Da Bridge to Ring Road 4, which carries a total investment of nearly VND29 trillion. The overall project is being developed by Dai Quang Minh Real Estate Investment JSC.

The entire corridor will stretch about 44.5km and comprise two sections. The first, extending from Ma Da Bridge to Ba Hao Junction, will feature eight traffic lanes, including elevated sections, designed to improve regional connectivity while minimising environmental impacts on the Dong Nai culture and nature reserve.

Once completed, the route will form a major north-south transport artery, strengthening links between different parts of Dong Nai and key logistics centres, seaports and Long Thanh International Airport.

Authorities expect the project to unlock new development opportunities by improving connectivity between economic growth poles, expanding land available for industrial, service, tourism and urban development, attracting new investment and enhancing the city's long-term competitiveness.
