Vietnam National Payment Corporation (NAPAS) and TikTok Shop have signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement to deploy online payment services through NAPAS's Digital Payment Platform (DPP), expanding payment options for shoppers as Vietnam's e-commerce market continues to grow.
Under the partnership, TikTok Shop users will be able to pay for purchases using NAPAS cards and payment accounts from 44 banks through the DPP platform. The integration is designed to provide a more secure, convenient, and seamless payment experience as demand for online shopping continues to increase.
Strengthening payment infrastructure for e-commerce
Vietnam's e-commerce market has undergone rapid transformation in recent years as consumers increasingly favor platforms that combine convenience, speed, and interactive shopping experiences. The shift has prompted e-commerce companies to expand their services and invest in improved user experiences.
TikTok Shop has emerged as one of the country's fastest-growing e-commerce platforms, leveraging its content ecosystem and in-app shopping model to attract consumers, particularly younger users.
As the operator of Vietnam's national retail payment infrastructure, NAPAS connects banks, payment intermediaries, and domestic and international partners through services including NAPAS card payments, NAPAS 24/7 instant transfers, QR code payments, and other digital payment solutions.
To support the growing digital economy, NAPAS has developed its Digital Payment Platform (DPP), a unified infrastructure that enables merchants, e-commerce businesses, and payment service providers to integrate digital payment services more quickly while maintaining secure and reliable transaction processing. The platform is intended to help standardize Vietnam's online payment infrastructure and support broader adoption of digital payments.
Through the new integration, TikTok Shop gains access to NAPAS's nationwide payment network, allowing customers to choose from multiple payment methods, including NAPAS cards, account-based payments, banking and payment intermediary applications, and Apple Pay. The platform also supports secure transaction authentication designed to streamline the checkout process.
For merchants and payment service providers, the DPP platform is expected to simplify system integration, reduce implementation resources, and improve operational efficiency.
The partnership also reinforces NAPAS's role as Vietnam's national retail payment infrastructure provider while supporting the continued development of the country's digital commerce ecosystem. The companies said the collaboration aims to improve payment experiences for online shoppers while contributing to Vietnam's broader digital transformation and digital economy.
