In the first half of 2026, the network of overseas Vietnamese and Asian businesses in the Southern United States continued to serve as a vital bridge in promoting bilateral trade, expanding distribution systems for Vietnamese goods, and strengthening connections between enterprises from both nations.
According to the Vietnam Trade Office in Houston, numerous trade promotion programs were implemented in collaboration with organizations such as the Asian Chamber of Commerce (ACC), the Texas Restaurant Association, and the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce. These initiatives attracted a large number of businesses seeking sourcing opportunities and partnerships in Vietnam.
A highlight of these activities was the working visit of an ACC Houston delegation to Vietnam in June 2026. The delegation met with the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as well as the Handicraft and Wood Industry Association of Ho Chi Minh City (HAWA), to implement a long-term cooperation program for the 2026–2028 period. In the e-commerce and logistics sectors, Dallas-based PAX Trading Inc. is developing a model to connect Vietnamese businesses with the US market through an e-commerce platform integrated with logistics services.
The company also facilitates imports from the US to Vietnam while distributing Vietnamese products in the US via the shipping networks of UPS, DHL, FedEx, and international airlines. Their portfolio includes eight types of fresh Vietnamese fruits officially licensed for export to the US including dragon fruit, mango, lychee, longan, rambutan, star apple, green-skinned pomelo, and coconut.
