Industrial production in northern Bac Ninh Province during the first six months of 2026 maintained a strong positive growth trajectory, continuing its role as the primary engine for the province's economic development, according a news story reported by Radio the Voice of Vietnam.
The province's Index of Industrial Production (IIP) is estimated to have increased by 19.51% compared to the same period in 2025. Notably, the processing and manufacturing sector—the largest component of Bac Ninh’s industrial structure—grew by 19.60%. The water supply, waste management, and wastewater treatment sector saw a significant rise of 26.73%, while the production and distribution of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning increased by 11%.
At the sub-sector level, several industries recorded impressive growth rates. Waste collection, treatment, disposal, and recycling led the way with a 36.38% jump.
Other high-performing sectors compared to the previous year include: electrical equipment manufacturing (up 23.92%); metal production (22.25%); transport vehicle manufacturing (up 21.73%); electronics, computers, and optical products (20.44%); and fabricated metal products (except machinery) up 17.11%.
The electronic component manufacturing sector remains the main growth driver for the province’s industry. Major FDI enterprises, such as New Wing, Fukang, Fuhong, and Samsung, have maintained stable operations while expanding order volumes and increasing output, contributing significantly to the overall industrial surge.
As a result, the province's industrial production value (at current prices) for the first half of 2026 is estimated at approximately VND1.6 quadrillion ($60.8 billion), representing a 16.17% increase over the same period in 2025.
