Central Quang Ngai province has approved an investment policy for Phase 3 of the Dung Quat - Sa Huynh Coastal Road project, with a total investment of VND6 trillion (approximately $228 million).
This project aims to complete the regional transport infrastructure and link coastal road sections with the route from nearby Gia Lai province, following the completion of Phases 1 and 2.
Phase 3 of the project spans approximately 32.6 km, passing through several communes and wards, including Lan Phong, Tra Cau, Duc Pho, Khanh Cuong, and Sa Huynh.
The project’s technical specifications include a roadbed width of 22–41m and a road surface width of 12–16m. The investment also covers drainage systems, traffic safety infrastructure, and the construction of bridges and culverts along the route.
The primary objective of the project is to finalize the transport infrastructure and create a seamless coastal traffic axis. This will meet the growing demands for transportation and tourism while driving socio-economic development for the province and the Central Vietnam region.
Additionally, the project is designed to expand urban spaces and promote the tourism economy. It will facilitate the formation and connection of key economic zones, including logistics and transshipment hubs, maritime urban services, central urban areas, and cultural-maritime tourism regions.
