A groundbreaking ceremony for the infrastructure development project of Green Bay Tech Industrial Park was held in northern Quang Ninh Province on August 27, marking a new step in the province’s efforts to attract high-tech and environmentally sustainable investment, on the eve of upgrading it into a centrally-governed city.

Located in Yen Tu and Uong Bi wards, the industrial park covers 435 hectares and has an estimated investment of VND5.7 trillion ($216 million). The project is developed by Green Bay Tech Industrial Park Co., Ltd., a joint venture between VL Investment Vina Co., Ltd. and Global Financial Investment Consulting JSC.

The industrial park is planned as a modern, integrated and environmentally friendly high-tech industrial zone. Its key objective is to selectively attract projects using advanced technologies, generating high added value and making efficient use of resources, thereby contributing to Quang Ninh’s sustainable development.

Situated in western Quang Ninh near Hai Phong, the project is expected to strengthen connections between Hai Phong’s seaport and logistics infrastructure and major industrial parks and economic zones in Quang Ninh.

South Korean investors said the industrial park could create new opportunities for businesses from both countries to cooperate and expand in strategic industries with strong future growth potential. These sectors include electrical and electronics manufacturing, information technology, automotive components, advanced chemical materials, green energy, logistics and modern distribution systems.
